Memorial Day Weekend

Cassidy had her first camping experience on Memorial Weekend. On Friday and Saturday night we stayed in a rustic campsite on Storm Castle Creek. It was pretty cold on Friday night but it didn't seem to bother Cassidy at all. I couldn't believe how much she enjoyed hanging out at the campsite.

Our friends Kory & Holly came up to visit us on Friday night with their kids. We had hot dogs and smores by the fire. On Saturday Tony & Ryan came up to go for a hike with Dave while Cassidy and I hung out at the campsite.

Sunday they started calling for rain so we decided not to push our luck with camping. I am pretty glad that we didn't stay because it ended up raining and snowing.

On Monday Tony took us on a drive over to Ennis and around to Quake & Hebgen lakes. We found some really cool places for hiking and camping that we will have to go back to visit. Unfortunately it was a little too cold and wet to take Cassidy out in it too much.

Mom, Dad & Granny

Mom, Dad & Granny flew in for a quick visit on 5/17. This was Granny's first flight ever so I am hoping that she thought it was worth the trip. I took them up to Big Sky on Friday and then we took them to Yellowstone on Saturday. We had great luck with seeing animals. We saw three wolves, two moose, an eagle, a fox, elk and bison.

Unfortunately Cassidy came down with croup on Saturday night so we didn't make it back to Yellowstone on Sunday for the 2nd half of the tour. Mom will be hitching a ride back out here with Keri and Bill in the middle of June so maybe she can get the rest of the tour then.

Mother's Day

On 5/13 we took a trip to Pine Creek Falls. These falls are in Paradise Valley so it took us about an hour to get to the trail head and then we hiked about 1 1/2 miles to the falls. The last time that we hiked to these falls I was 8 months pregnant so this trip was quite a bit easier than the last time.

We had a lot of fun climbing up and around the falls, we even called Mom & Merry from the top of the falls to wish them a happy Mother's Day. We were pretty surprised that our phones had service.

Cassidy is getting pretty good at the hiking thing. She has always been a good traveler but we have definitely been testing her limits.

Ousel Falls

On 5/06 we went up to Ousel Falls in Big Sky. The hike is about a mile and it is a pretty easy hike. Tony said that if we keep taking him to all of these boring places that he was going to move back to Florida.

This is one of my favorite hikes at all times of the year. We have hiked back here in the winter and the falls were almost frozen over. One of the times that Dave hiked it you could actually slide down ice chutes from one switchback to the next.

Cassidy is getting used to the waterfall noise. She wasn't nearly as nervous on this trip. She was having a lot of fun hanging out at the base of the falls but she still had to make sure that she was touching one of us at all times.
